Upcoming director Bijoy Nambiar (Shaitan, David) brings a new story to the screen with the action-oriented drama, Por. The Tamil-Hindi bilingual film stars Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram alongside Sanchana Natarajan in a pivotal role.

Por, meaning War, draws inspiration from the historical epic Ponniyin Selvan. The intense, battle-cry-like use of the word left an impression, giving rise to the film’s title. The film explores the fierce rivalry between two starkly different college students.

“The title ‘Por’ seemed appropriate for the battle of two opposing characters,” explained Nambiar. “It’s an unadulterated, full Tamil movie aimed entirely at the college-going youth.”

Arjun Das, who plays one of the central characters, describes the film’s unique approach: “The director gave us complete freedom during the shoot. He showed us scenes shot in the other language and asked us to act naturally.”

Actress Sanchana Natarajan spoke of her determination in securing a specific role in the film. “I fought persistently and was adamant that I would play that character and ended up playing that character,” she stated. Natarajan also praised her co-star Arjun Das for his exceptional dedication, revealing an on-set incident where he continued filming despite a serious injury.

Producer Madhu Alex of Roox Media expressed enthusiasm for the project: “This is my first film as a producer, and I’m delighted to be associated with T-Series in the very first film. The team is young, dedicated, and innovative.”

Por is set for a March 1st release date and promises to deliver a raw and captivating portrayal of the complexities of college life, friendship, and rivalry.
