Actor-turned-director Soman Castro, known for his previous directorial work Kadarkarai, has generated significant anticipation for his latest film, XYZ. The film, which Castro produced and directed, explores the emotional complexities of family, love, and ambition. It has already garnered success on the international festival circuit.

XYZ delves into the struggle of a rural father determined to provide his son with a quality education. This dedication leads the son to a successful career in the city, where he falls in love with a coworker. Their relationship takes an unconventional turn, leading the couple to start a family without marriage. When the son seeks his father’s blessing before accepting an overseas job opportunity, unforeseen challenges test the bonds of family.

Newcomer Venkat stars as the son, alongside debut actress Sharvini as his love interest. “The film will leave you in tears,” claimed Castro, highlighting the film’s realism and promising scenes that resonate with audiences’ own life experiences. The film boasts action sequences, notably a ten-minute chase scene and a captivating climax. Filmed in Salem and Mettur, XYZ holds potential to make a significant impact on viewers.

XYZ has already received five “Best Film” awards at film festivals across India and has been selected for screenings abroad. The film is expected to release within the next few months.
