Chennai’s Anna Nagar locality welcomes Ichaas, a unique restaurant and organic store concept from seasoned restaurateur Ganesh Ram. Located at No. 1979, 15th Main Road, the venue held its grand opening ceremony yesterday, with actor and director Radhakrishnan Parthiban as the chief guest.
The visuals of Ichaas are immediately apparent, thanks to the impressive wall hangings of artist AP Shreedhar. “Ichaas is an extension of my dream to bring the freshness of organic goodness to every doorstep,” said founder Ganesh Ram. “This began as a natural farming project in Marakkanam and has evolved into a celebration of fine dining and healthy living for the people of Chennai.”
The restaurant offers a culinary journey across India, with each floor dedicated to a distinct cuisine. The first floor features continental dishes accompanied by live guitar music, while the second floor showcases traditional Indian fare with the sounds of a veena. The Ichaas store boasts a curated selection of Indian cheeses, butter, honey, millets, and other wholesome products. Many dairy products utilize A2 cow’s milk sourced from Parasakthi Divyaamruth Goshala and Natural Farms Private Limited.
The ambiance pleased Parthiban: “I could see Shreethar’s work from lighting the lamp itself. The evolution of the world and increasing population, things happen the first night… Likely celebrating the first day like this must be the very first time I guess,” he commented. Parthiban also noted Ichaas’ potential appeal: “Nowadays people wish to go to fancy restaurants and enjoy food regardless of their economical stature. This place must be a great choice for those kind of foodies. I like this place and wish to come back here to enjoy their menu.”
