Actress Jyothika expressed her admiration for the inspirational story of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired businessman, whose life is depicted in the upcoming Hindi film Sreekanth, set to release on May 10th.
“‘Sreekanth‘ is a truly inspiring and boldly told story,“ Jyothika shared at the film‘s press conference in Chennai. “I am proud to have been a part of this project.“
Jyothika, who plays the role of a teacher in the film, revealed that her perspective on life and particularly on visually impaired individuals underwent a significant shift after learning about Bolla‘s journey. “I was amazed when I heard Srikanth Bolla‘s story,“ she stated. “Meeting him in person and learning about his life experiences completely changed my outlook, especially my perception of visually challenged people. It made me realize how talented they are and question how we treat them in public.“
Jyothika believes that the film will serve as an eye-opener for many, prompting a change in societal attitudes towards the visually impaired. “This movie will be an eye-opener for many,“ she asserted. “After its release, there will definitely be a shift in our perception of visually challenged people.“
Sreekanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Chalk n Cheese Films, stars Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao as Srikanth Bolla, with Jyothika, Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar, and Javed Jaffrey in supporting roles. The film is an adaptation of Bolla‘s autobiography and chronicles his journey of overcoming challenges and achieving success as a businessman.
Jyothika emphasized the importance of supporting the film, stating, “This is my third Hindi film in Bollywood. The experience of working on this project was wonderful. Language is no barrier to collaboration. I have worked with talented artists across the Malayalam, Tamil, and Bollywood film industries. I request everyone to visit the theaters and support this film.“
