Santhanam‘s Inga Naan Thaan Kingu Aims to Revive Tamil Comedy Genre

Actor Santhanam‘s upcoming film Inga Naan Thaan Kingu (INTK) seeks to revitalize the Tamil comedy genre, which has faced challenges in recent times. At the film‘s press conference, Santhanam and his team discussed their aspirations for the project and their perspectives on Tamil comedy.

Santhanam, known for his impeccable comic timing and ability to connect with audiences, expressed his enthusiasm for INTK, stating, “This film portrays the lifestyle of 90s and 2K kids, promising a magical experience for the audience.“ He acknowledged the recent struggles within the Tamil film industry, particularly for mid-budget films, and expressed hope that INTK would contribute to a positive shift.

Director Anand Narayan emphasized the film‘s family-friendly humor and its focus on providing wholesome entertainment. “The film is a comedy treat without any obscenity or indecency,“ Narayan remarked. He highlighted the collaborative effort behind the film, praising the contributions of the cast and crew, including music director D. Imman and writer Ezhichur Aravindan.

Writer Aravindan expressed his gratitude to producer G.N. Anbuchezhian for backing the project and providing the necessary support to bring the story to life. “Producers are no less than Gods, as they become the major source of energy to make a film,“ Aravindan acknowledged. He also commended Santhanam‘s guidance and support throughout the filmmaking process.

Actor Thambi Ramaiah, known for his comedic roles, shared his perspective on the current state of Tamil cinema. “Nowadays, movies have become a popular subject of conversation, with some even suggesting that Malayalam cinema is surpassing us,“ Ramaiah observed. “However, I would like to emphasize that Tamil cinema is the foundation of all industries.“ He expressed optimism about INTK and its potential to resonate with family audiences.

Inga Naan Thaan Kingu is produced by Gopuram Films and features music by D. Imman. The film boasts a strong supporting cast, including Thambi Ramaiah, Seshu, Munishkanth, Cool Suresh, Bala Saravanan, Vivek Prasanna, Maaran, and Swaminathan. Priyalaya plays the female lead opposite Santhanam.
