Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is set to break new ground in Indian live music performances with a concert featuring a 360-degree stage, a first for the country. The event, titled “U1 Long Drive Live in Concert,” is scheduled for July 27 at the YMCA ground in Nandanam, Chennai.

At a press conference in Chennai, Yuvan Shankar Raja expressed his excitement about the innovative stage design. “This show is very special for me,” he said. “Last time there was a concert in Chennai, there was a small gap between me and the fans. I wanted to be more intimate with them, and this 360-degree platform will provide that opportunity.”

The concert is being organized by Noise & Grains, a company with a decade of experience in music events, to mark their 10th anniversary. Mahaveer, Chairman of Noise & Grains, highlighted the uniqueness of the event. “For the first time in India, a concert is being held on a 360-degree stage,” he stated. “This will increase the closeness between the fans and Yuvan.”

The performance will feature more than 35 songs, with Yuvan Shankar Raja himself singing over 15 of them. Accompanying him will be a roster of backing singers including Andrea, Hari Charan, Premgi, Rahul Nambiar, and several others.

This Chennai concert follows a successful show in Bangalore, which Mahaveer described as having “crossed language barriers.” The organizers plan to take the “U1 Long Drive Live in Concert” series to Coimbatore and Singapore in the near future.

Boomer Fashion, a ready-to-wear company, has joined as the promoter for the event. Their involvement underscores the broad appeal of Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music across different sectors.

The 360-degree stage, while new to India, has been used in international concerts in various countries. This event marks a significant step in bringing such innovative staging to the Indian music scene.
