The teaser for Madraskaaran, directed by Vali Mohan Das and produced by SR Productions, was recently launched in Chennai. The film marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Shane Nigam and features a cast including Kalaiyarasan, Niharika Konidela, and Aishwarya Dutta.
Director Vali Mohan Das, known for his previous work Rangoli, described Madraskaaran as a story where “a small incident turns into a big problem and turns the lives of two people upside down.” The film was shot in Chennai, Madurai, and Kochi.
Shane Nigam, recognized for his roles in Malayalam films like Kumbalangi Nights and Ishq, expressed his gratitude at the event. “When I doubted myself, Vali and Jagathees believed in me and made this film,” he said.
Producer B. Jagathees highlighted the unique approach to the project, stating, “When I heard half the story, I told him to start the film. The reason was the trust in the director.” He also praised Shane Nigam’s dedication, noting the actor’s punctuality and hard work.
Kalaiyarasan, who plays a character from Pudukottai in the film, shared his experience: “Shane Nigam is a very good actor and it was a pleasure to act with him. I liked the making and the story of the film and immediately agreed to act.”
Music composer Sam CS emphasized the importance of quality in filmmaking. “We need to deliver quality work to a paying audience,” he said. “When a film is shot well, everyone’s contribution comes out very well.”
Niharika Konidela, making her Tamil film debut, expressed her excitement about the project. “Very good talent coming together to deliver a great piece of work, Shane was a pleasure to work with,” she said.
The film also features Aishwarya Dutta in a significant role. She shared her journey, saying, “This is my 11th year in Tamil cinema and I have overcome many hurdles to get this film.”
Madraskaaran is currently in its final phase of post-production. The theatrical release date is yet to be announced.
