The upcoming film Andhagan – The Pianist, starring Prashanth in the lead role, is set to hit theaters on August 9. Directed by Thiagarajan, the film is a crime thriller that features an ensemble cast including Simran, Priya Anand, and Samuthirakani.
At a recent press event in Chennai, the cast and crew shared insights into the film’s production and their experiences on set. Director Thiagarajan emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, stating, “All the actors, actresses and technicians who acted in this film were friends. If shooting is at nine o’clock, everyone will be on the set at nine o’clock.”
Prashanth, who plays a pianist in the film, spoke about the unique aspects of his role and the cast. “There are many stars in this movie. The leading star actors of the film industry have acted in this movie. It was an unforgettable experience with everyone,” he said.
Simran, who has worked with Prashanth in six previous films, described their on-screen dynamic: “There will be a lot of contrasts between my character and his character. You will know it when you see it on screen.”
The film’s music, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, is expected to play a significant role. Choreographer Kala noted, “The songs are very good in this movie. We completed the dance sequences for the song in eight hours.”
Samuthirakani, who plays a pivotal role, shared his experience working with Thiagarajan and Prashanth. “Seeing Thiagarajan scares me,” he joked, referring to the director’s intensity on set.
