The upcoming film Seeran marked a significant milestone with the release of its music and trailer at a recent event in Chennai. Filmmaker Rajesh M, known for his works like Siva Manasula Shakti and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, presided over the function, which was attended by media representatives and film industry personalities.

Seeran is directed by Durai K Murugan, a former assistant to Rajesh M, and produced by James Karthik and M. Niaz. The film, set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 4, aims to address social inequalities and advocate for equal rights.

James Karthik, who serves as the film’s producer, writer, and lead actor, spoke about the project’s origins: “The movie is based on a true story. We have adapted it for the big screen. We have communicated something very important to society.”

Actress Ineya, who plays a central role in the film, described the scope of her character: “In the film, I have played the role of Poongothai in three different make-overs. As a 20-year-old woman, a mother of two, and then a 56-year-old woman, all three characters are entirely different.”

Director Durai K Murugan expressed gratitude towards his mentor and the film’s team: “I am here only because Rajesh M sir took me under his wings. I have learned a lot from him. As soon as I got committed to the film, I called Naren sir. Thank you for accepting.”

The film’s music, composed by Arvind Gerald and Sasitharan, with background score by Jubin, was also unveiled at the event. Sasitharan commented on the collaborative process: “The director says OK only if he likes the song. He won’t let go until the tune is good.”

Actor Adukalam Naren provided insight into the film’s narrative: “James Karthik has actually narrated the life he lived. Even though he went abroad and became a big man, he came back to town and picked up the story of the victim of circumstances.”

Seeran features a cast including James Karthik, Ineya, Sonia Aggarwal, Adukalam Naren, Ajeeth, Krisha Kurup, Sendrayan, Aryan, and Arundathi Nair. The film was shot in rural areas around Vellore near Chennai.

Uthra Productions’ Hari Utra will handle the film’s distribution across Tamil Nadu.
