Dawn Pictures has unveiled the title and teaser of Idhayam Murali, starring Atharvaa Murali, at a college event attended by thousands of students. The film marks producer Aakash Baskaran’s directorial debut after producing hits like Idli Kadai with Dhanush and Parasakthi with Sivakarthikeyan.
The title holds special significance as it references the memorable character played by Atharvaa’s father, actor Murali. “There’s an Idhayam Murali within me, within everyone,” said Atharvaa. “This story was first pitched to me in 2017, but it’s happening now after Aakash established himself as a producer.”
The romantic drama features an ensemble cast including Preethi Mukundan, Kayadu Lohar, Natty, Thaman, Niharika, Rakshan, Draavid, Angeline, Pragya Nagra, Sudhakar, and Yashasri. “The story will remind you of your college days and experiences,” said Preethi Mukundan.
Music composer Thaman, who also appears in the film, shared his experience: “Aakash is a blend of Gautham Menon and Jiiva. This will definitely be an entertaining film with a great love story.”
The film, currently in production, is Dawn Pictures’ fourth venture. The technical crew includes cinematographer CH Sai, editor Pradeep E Raghav, and lyrics by Vivek, with dialogues penned by Ramanagiri Vasan, Aakash Baskaran, and Draavida Selvam.
