Suriya Thanks Media for Retro Success, Donates Rs 10 Crore to Agaram Foundation

Actor Suriya, along with director Karthik Subbaraj and the Retro film team, met with members of the press in Chennai to express gratitude for the positive reception and reported success of their film. The movie, which released on May 1st, has reportedly surpassed Rs 104 crore in box office collections. At the thank-you event, the team announced Suriya’s donation of Rs 10 crore from the film’s profits to the Agaram Foundation, his educational charity.

Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, stars Suriya alongside Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Nassar, and Prakash Raj. The film is a joint production of Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Films, with Rajsekar Pandian and Karthikeyan Santhanam serving as co-producers. The film has been well-received by audiences and continues its successful theatrical run.

At the thank-you meet, Suriya interacted considerably with media representatives, sharing his appreciation and posing for photographs. People conveyed their congratulations to the actor and the film team. The event served as an acknowledgment of the media’s role in the film’s journey and its reported commercial performance.
