The upcoming fantasy film Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, has been produced directly in Chinese and Japanese in addition to its Indian versions, a strategic move aimed at the East Asian market. The film will also feature high-speed action sequences choreographed by Thai stunt masters, for which Teja stated he performed all his own stunts without a double.

Speaking at a gathering in Chennai, Teja explained the international production strategy. “We have produced this film in Chinese and Japanese languages. The reason is that countries like China and Japan have a large market for Indian films,” he said, noting the release of his previous film, Hanu-Man, in those territories.

Teja also detailed the film’s distinct approach to its action sequences. “In this film, we have tried to set up high-speed fight scenes instead of regular ones. For that, we brought in Katcha Master and Nang Master from Thailand,” he stated. “I went to Thailand and Bangkok and trained for 20 days. I have acted directly in all the fight scenes you will see in this film without a double.” He added that to achieve an “international level,” action scenes were also filmed in locations including the Himalayas and Sri Lanka.

The film is directed by Karthik Gattamneni and produced by People Media Factory. Teja described the genre as a mix of “action, adventure, fantasy, emotion, and devotion.” He explained that the title, Mirai, means “hope of the future” in Japanese, but that it holds another meaning within the film that will be “revealed through a twist.”

The cast of Mirai also includes Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 12.
