Director Abin Hariharan has clarified that his upcoming medical thriller, Others, is not an indictment of fertility hospitals but instead focuses on an individual antagonist’s personal vendetta. The clarification came in response to questions about whether the film might instill fear in childless couples seeking treatment.

“The story does not project any doctor or hospital which is involved in the crime,” Abin stated. He explained that the film centers on an individual who “is using the hospital and its procedures as a weapon for a deep-seated personal vengeance.” He also noted that the character played by Gouri G. Kishan is a “responsible doctor who uncovers this issue happening at the hospital.”

Gouri, who was present at the pre-release event, confirmed her role. “I play a doctor at a fertility hospital. It’s a versatile role and I observed a few doctors for my character,” she said. She also recalled the unique circumstances of the script narration, stating, “Abin Hariharan gave the script narration of Others to me while he was in the hospital, and the scenes instantly came alive before my eyes.”

The film marks the debut of lead actor Aditya Madhavan, who plays a police officer. Aditya expressed his gratitude to the director for the opportunity, noting, “He showed immense confidence in me by casting not one but two heroines alongside a debutant like myself.”

The music for the film is composed by Ghibran, who remarked on the strength of the antagonist’s role. “When Abin told the story, the villain character was very strong,” he said.
