The upcoming film IPL (Indian Penal Law) is based on a real-life incident of injustice experienced by a friend of the film’s producer, G.R. Madhan Kumar. The thriller, which stars Kishore and popular YouTuber TTF Vasan, explores how powerful individuals can manipulate the legal system to blame ordinary citizens for their own wrongdoings.
Speaking at the film’s music launch, producer Madhan Kumar revealed the personal story behind the project. “The starting point for all of this is my dear friend, Martin Suresh. He was directly affected by the authorities during the Corona period,” he stated. “Director Karunanidhi wrote the screenplay based on the events he described and has made a great film.”

Director Karunanidhi elaborated on the film’s central theme. “When a problem arises for those with power and money, how do they escape by shifting that problem onto an ordinary person? We have made this film to show how ordinary people are affected by this,” he explained. “We see many news reports in the papers about murders and accidents. We read them and easily move on. This film speaks in detail about such a news item.”

The film marks the acting debut of TTF Vasan, a well-known YouTuber and motorcycle enthusiast. Vasan, who described himself as a “shy boy,” acknowledged his inexperience. “This is my first film. I will surely have made many mistakes. Please watch the film in theatres and give your honest reviews. I will correct my shortcomings,” he said.
Actor Kishore, who plays a key role, described the film as a necessary voice in the current cinematic landscape. “Cinema is the people’s medium… In the current situation, where cinema is becoming a slave to the system, it is heartening to see films that are the voice of the people and ask questions,” he remarked.
IPL (Indian Penal Law) is directed by Karunanidhi and features music by Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy. The cast also includes Abhirami, Kushitha, and Singam Puli. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 28.
