Streaming platform ZEE5 has announced the premiere of its latest Tamil original series, “Heartiley Battery,” scheduled to start streaming on December 16. Written and directed by Sadhasivam Senthilrajan, the show is described as a quirky sci-fi romantic drama that attempts to deconstruct modern relationships through a unique scientific lens, blurring the lines between cold logic and chaotic emotion.

The narrative follows Sofia, played by Padine Kumar, a brilliant young science enthusiast who views love merely as a biological and chemical reaction. Disillusioned by the failed relationships around her, she dedicates her teenage years to inventing a “love meter”—a device capable of scientifically measuring the authenticity of romantic chemistry. Her worldview is challenged when she crosses paths with Sid, played by Guru Lakshman, a comic book writer who champions intuition and the emotional magic of romance, dismissing her invention as meaningless. The plot thickens when the device begins predicting their emotional chemistry, leading to a series of hilarious and heartfelt misunderstandings.

“Sid is a character who deeply believes in feelings, instincts, and the magic of love,” said Guru Lakshman. He noted that the role helped him explore his own humor and sensitivity, adding that the series investigates what the heart truly wants rather than just being a conventional love story. Meanwhile, Padine Kumar described her character as confident and intelligent, noting the challenge of playing a woman who tries to rationalize emotions with science while grappling with her own internal feelings.

Produced by Sharanya L. Sharma, Edwin Louis Viswanath, and Raja DS under the banner Elysium Maxima in association with Allo Media, the series features an ensemble cast including Sumithra Devi, Jeeva Ravi, and Sharmila. The technical crew includes cinematographer Coolie Sounderrajan and composer Michael Akash. Lloyd C. Xavier, Business Head for ZEE5 Tamil and Malayalam, stated that “Heartiley Battery” captures the conflict and unity between science and emotion, aiming to offer a fresh narrative experience for the Tamil audience.
