Veteran journalist, producer, and director Chithra Lakshmanan has announced the launch of the Frame and Fame Awards, a new initiative designed to restore dignity and credibility to film honors. Organized under the banner of his popular platform Touring Talkies, the awards are a joint venture with senior public relations officers Singaravelu, Riaz K. Ahmed, and Paras Riyaz. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 25, 2026, at Kamarajan Arangam in Chennai.

During the curtain-raiser event in Chennai, Lakshmanan stated that the awards were conceived as a meaningful tribute to the film fraternity, emphasizing that true recognition holds greater value than commercial success. To ensure fairness, a high-profile jury has been constituted with filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj serving as the Chairman.
