The team behind My Lord, the upcoming Tamil satirical drama starring Sasikumar, met thousands of fans at a promotional event ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on February 13. Director Raju Murugan, lead actress Chaithra J Achar and music director Sean Roldan joined Sasikumar at the gathering, where they fielded questions, performed songs and shared details about the film.

My Lord centres on a married couple, played by Sasikumar and Chaithra J Achar, who are wrongly declared dead and must battle bureaucracy while confronting a kidney trafficking ring tied to corrupt politicians. The film blends political satire with warm family drama, a combination that director Raju Murugan has made his signature across films like Joker, which won the National Award for Best Tamil Film in 2016, and his debut Cuckoo.

“We won’t make you sad or make you cry. We’ll make you laugh, make you think,” Sasikumar told the crowd. He described My Lord as a family film in the spirit of his 2025 blockbuster Tourist Family, which grossed over 90 crore worldwide on a modest budget. “Just like Tourist Family spoke about humanity, this film too will teach you about love and compassion,” he said, adding that families and young audiences could watch it together without reservation.

Sasikumar spoke warmly about his co-star Chaithra J Achar, a Kannada actress known for her work in films like Toby alongside Raj B Shetty and Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side-B with Rakshit Shetty. “Just as she is an accomplished actress in Kannada cinema, she will grow into a major name in Tamil as well. My Lord will be the perfect introduction for her,” he said. He also highlighted Guru Somasundaram’s contribution, noting that the actor joined the project at short notice and brought his character fully to life.

Director Raju Murugan explained the Valentine’s Week release date. “My Lord is about a couple deeply in love. The love between husband and wife is the greatest love in the world,” he said. “This film speaks about that marital love, but at the same time, it tells us how human beings around the world should love one another.” He credited Sasikumar as the ideal fit for the role of Muthusilpi, a character built on warmth and humanity. “No one else could have done this. Tamil audiences know that Sasikumar embodies love and compassion, not just on screen but in real life.”

Chaithra J Achar, making her Tamil debut with My Lord, called the experience deeply rewarding. “Working with important figures in Indian cinema has been a great joy. I learned a lot on this film,” she said. She described the film as a blend of romance and political drama, promising audiences full value for their money.

Music director Sean Roldan, who previously collaborated with Sasikumar on Tourist Family, compared the film to a satisfying meal. “My Lord will give audiences a sense of completeness. It will be entertaining and enjoyable, but it will also make you reflect on where we stand as human beings,” he said. He expressed confidence that the film would be a major success for both Sasikumar and Raju Murugan.

My Lord is produced by Jayanthi Ambethkumar under the Olympia Films banner, with cinematography by Nirav Shah, lyrics by Yugabharathi and art direction by Muni Balraj. The film also features Jayaprakash, Asha Sharath, filmmaker Gopi Nainar and Vasumithra in supporting roles. Sri Kumaran Films is handling distribution across Tamil Nadu.
