Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have named their newborn twins Shiva Ram Konidela and Anveera Devi Konidela. The names were announced by Chiranjeevi on social media, alongside a photograph from the traditional naming ceremony held on February 11. “With boundless joy and divine grace, we are delighted to announce the beautiful names of our two little blessings,” Chiranjeevi wrote.
Both names draw from family lineage and spiritual tradition. Shiva Ram connects two strands of the Konidela family. “Shiva” is taken from Chiranjeevi’s given name, Konidela Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad, representing inner strength and spiritual depth. “Ram” comes from Ram Charan, signifying righteousness and compassion. The name also carries the blessings of the Shiva Ram Temple in Telangana, an ancient shrine built by Anil Kamineni’s ancestors from the royal family of the Domakonda Samasthan.

Anveera Devi, their daughter’s name, draws on the idea of the divine feminine. Anveera signifies fearlessness and divine protection, inspired by the Kanaka Durga Devi Temple in Vijayawada, a shrine deeply revered by Ram Charan’s mother Surekha Konidela.

The twins were born on January 31 in Hyderabad, making Ram Charan and Upasana parents of three. Their first child, daughter Klin Kaara, was born in June 2023. In the photograph from the ceremony, Ram Charan holds Klin Kaara as she watches the rituals, while Upasana sits beside him in a traditional silk saree. Chiranjeevi cradles one of the twins alongside Upasana’s father Anil Kamineni. On the other side, Surekha Konidela stands next to Upasana’s mother Shobana Kamineni, who holds the other baby. The family is gathered under a canopy of marigold garlands in what appears to be a traditional pooja setting.
The Konidela and Kamineni families are two of the most prominent in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Chiranjeevi has been one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars for over four decades, while the Kamineni family is behind the Apollo Hospitals chain founded by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy. Ram Charan, who gained global recognition with S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR in 2022, most recently starred in Game Changer, directed by Shankar. His next film, Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana with music by A.R. Rahman, is set for release on April 30.
