Vetri’s next film Black Gold has wrapped shooting. The action thriller, directed by Dheeran Arunkumar, finished principal photography in and around Chennai, with the team now moving into post-production.

Dheeran Arunkumar made his mark with Theerpugal Virkapadum, and Black Gold is his follow-up. Vetri, who broke through with the critically acclaimed 8 Thottakkal and went on to star in Jeevi, takes the lead as a young man caught in a confrontation with a shadowy business syndicate. The premise revolves around something seemingly ordinary that turns out to be a global-scale underground operation, though the team is keeping specific plot details under wraps for now.

Priyalaya plays the female lead opposite Vetri. The supporting cast is fairly stacked: Livingston, Tulasi, Bigg Boss fame Abhirami, Vijay TV’s Ramar, Jeeva Ravi, and Karate Venkatesh all feature in the film. Producer M. Murthy, who backs the project under his MM Studios banner, also steps in front of the camera for a key role.

The technical crew includes Santhosh Kumar Veerasamy on cinematography, Gavaskar Avinash composing the music, Dineshkumar on the edit, and Metro Mahesh choreographing the action sequences.

The film’s first look had already generated a decent buzz when it dropped earlier. With the shoot now done, the team says a trailer and official release date will follow soon.
