Suriya plays a competitive pistol shooter who hasn’t given up on his sporting ambitions in Vishwanath and Sons, and the teaser released this week makes it clear this isn’t a typical action vehicle. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film introduces Sanjay Vishwanath, a man in his 40s navigating fatherhood, unfinished dreams, and what appears to be an unconventional romance with a younger woman played by Mamitha Baiju.
Atluri, coming off the success of Lucky Baskhar with Dulquer Salmaan, has consistently shown an ability to ground emotional stories in believable characters. The teaser suggests Vishwanath and Sons follows that instinct. The age-gap love story is presented with restraint rather than as a plot gimmick, and Suriya brings a warmth to the role that feels distinct from his recent action-heavy outings.
G.V. Prakash Kumar’s background score stands out even in the two-minute teaser, lending the visuals an understated elegance. Cinematographer Nimish Ravi frames the film in rich, muted tones, and production designer Banglan builds a world that feels lived-in rather than staged. Editing is handled by Navin Nooli.
Billed as a large-scale family drama with strong emotional undercurrents, the film brings together a top-tier technical team. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios, Vishwanath and Sons has wrapped shooting and is set for a worldwide theatrical release in July.
