Prabhu Deva’s son Rishi Deva has made his on-screen debut through Mudhal Mudhalaai, an indie music video that pairs him with newcomer Kyraa. The track, sung by G.V. Prakash Kumar and composed by Ravichandran Srinivas, blends romantic melody with rap, the latter handled by Aditya.

The connection between the singer and the star’s father gives this launch a neat backstory. In 1993, a young G.V. Prakash lent his voice to Chikku Bukku Raile, the A.R. Rahman composition that became one of Prabhu Deva’s most recognisable dance numbers in the Shankar film Gentleman. Over three decades later, the same voice introduces Prabhu Deva’s son to audiences.

Mudhal Mudhalaai featuring Rishi Deva and Kyraa

Rishi first caught public attention about a year ago when Prabhu Deva brought him on stage at a Chennai dance concert. The two performed Petta Rap together, and the clip went viral, with fans noting the resemblance in their movement. Mudhal Mudhalaai is his first proper project, directed by Trustina Isaac with choreography by Suren and cinematography by R.P. Gurudev.

The video has been picking up traction online. Rishi showcases dance skills that clearly run in the family, while the song itself sits in a breezy, youthful register that pairs first-love lyricism with contemporary production.
