TN 2026, a political satire written by Thambi Ramaiah and directed by his son Umapathy Ramaiah, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 10. The film stars Natti Natraj as a man who finds himself thrust into the middle of electoral chaos, surrounded by sloganeering crowds and scheming party workers.
The newly released poster sets the tone clearly: Natti Natraj stands on a stage with his hand raised while a massive crowd holds satirical banners and flags around him. It leans into the visual language of Tamil political rallies, but the comedy is the point.
This is Umapathy Ramaiah’s second directorial venture after Rajakili in 2024, which was also written by his father. That father-son creative partnership continues here, with Thambi Ramaiah handling the story while Umapathy takes charge of the screenplay and direction. The elder Ramaiah also appears in the film alongside MS Bhaskar and Ilavarasu, marking the first time the three veteran character actors share screen space.
The cast is packed with familiar comedy faces. Redin Kingsley, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and Badava Gopi’s associate Bigg Boss Muthukumar are part of the ensemble. Yashika Aannand, Siruttha Rao, and Santhini Tamilarasan play the female leads. Sandy, known as both a choreographer and performer, appears in a cameo.
Music is by Dharbuka Siva, the composer behind Maruvaarthai from Enai Noki Paayum Thota. Cinematography is handled by PG Muthiah, with editing by Arul R Thangam. The film is produced by Kannan Ravi and Deepak Ravi under the KRG banner.
