Filmmaker Atlee and his wife Priya welcomed a baby girl on April 20, announced by the couple through a social media post fronted by their son Meer. The pink card, designed as a note from the newly-minted big brother, carried a single line: “We, Priya and Atlee are blessed with a baby girl.” Atlee added “Feeling blessed” as his own caption. The couple have not revealed the name.
The family first welcomed Meer in 2022. The Atlee baby girl arrives at a busy professional moment for the director, whose next film Raaka was unveiled on April 8 with Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in the lead, backed by Sun Pictures. Atlee has described Raaka as an idea he held for eighteen years before finding the scale to make it.
His filmography includes the Vijay-led Mersal and Bigil, and Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan. Priya, his co-producer at A for Apple Productions since 2017, has been a steady public-facing partner through that stretch.
