Bineesh Raj, known for his directorial work on Ilai, which signified education for girls, shares directing and screenplay writing duties for Anjaam Vedham. The film is set in the fictional hillside village of Kurisumala, focusing on the intertwined lives of three main characters: Sunu Lakshmi, Vihan Vishnu, and Sajith Raj, who each play critical roles in the narrative.
Anjaam Vedham delves into the intricacies of divorce under Islamic law, contrasting the ‘talaq’ pronouncement by men with the ‘fasakh’ process available to women. The film follows Sahiba, portrayed by Sunu Lakshmi, as she courageously seeks fasakh from her husband amidst societal opposition.
