In her latest cinematic venture, Sunu Lakshmi, acclaimed for her roles in Aramm alongside Nayanthara and in Sangathalaivan, stars in the bilingual narrative, Anjaam Vedham. This film, presented in both Malayalam and Tamil, promises to deliver a potent message through its engaging storyline.

Mujeeb T Mohammed makes his directorial debut with Anjaam Vedham, a satirical exploration set within a Muslim community. The film intertwines themes of love with the complexities of caste, religion, and politics, all while maintaining a humorous undertone.

Bineesh Raj, known for his directorial work on Ilai, which signified education for girls, shares directing and screenplay writing duties for Anjaam Vedham. The film is set in the fictional hillside village of Kurisumala, focusing on the intertwined lives of three main characters: Sunu Lakshmi, Vihan Vishnu, and Sajith Raj, who each play critical roles in the narrative.

Anjaam Vedham delves into the intricacies of divorce under Islamic law, contrasting the ‘talaq’ pronouncement by men with the ‘fasakh’ process available to women. The film follows Sahiba, portrayed by Sunu Lakshmi, as she courageously seeks fasakh from her husband amidst societal opposition. Her quest leads her through a captivating journey filled with political intrigue and the possibility of rekindling a past romance.

Anjaam Vedham, led by Habeeb Aboobaker in production, is expected to make its debut on February 23.
