The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) gears up for its 10th edition, featuring film stars from across India. Among the eight contenders, the Chennai Rhinos were unveiled at a glitzy function in the city. Led by Arya, the team promises a blend of cricket and camaraderie. With the tournament spanning from February 23 to March 17, 2024, excitement builds for what’s touted as the second most popular cricket event after the IPL.
Chennai has a bunch of stops in Sharjah, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Thiruvananthapuram. They face off Punjab in their opening match in Sharjah on Feb 25.
In addition to Arya, the team consists of Shiva, Prithvi, Vishnu, Kalaiyarasan, Dasarathi, Bharath, Vikranth, Aadhav, Shanthanu, Ramana, Ashok Selvan, Bala Saravanan, Jiva, Sathya, and Sharran.
CCL founder Vishnu Induri feels Chennai are the favorites as “the actors participating do so out of passion, not financial gain.” Team captain Arya noted the unity and focus, stating: “there’s a sense of camaraderie; we set aside our cinematic roles to focus purely on the game.”
