The upcoming film Aram Sei, directed by Balu S Vaidyanathan, held its music launch event recently, bringing together the cast and crew to discuss the project. While billed as a political film, the director was quick to clarify the movie’s approach.

“It’s a political film, but we’re not discussing specific political parties or figures,” Vaidyanathan explained. “We’re exploring broader themes because everyone involved in this film has their own career to consider. What we’re advocating for isn’t just a change in government, but a fundamental shift in how politics works. That’s the core of our screenplay.”

The director emphasized that Aram Sei does not target specific politicians or parties. Instead, he stated, “We’ve examined the actions of political parties that have governed for the past 74 years. Our film discusses how governance should align with the principles laid out in the Constitution of India.”

Actor Jeeva, who plays a lead role, described the director as a “one-man army” who “poured his heart into the film.” He noted the secrecy surrounding the project, saying, “The director kept most of the story under wraps. We worked based on the limited information he provided.”

Bayilvan Ranganathan, another cast member, spoke about his initial conversation with the director. “When he approached me, I asked if he was familiar with my outspoken style on YouTube. He assured me he was aware and that’s why he wanted me for the role,” Ranganathan recounted. “That’s when I realized this film was likely to stir up controversy.”

Actress Trichy Sadhana revealed her challenging role, stating, “I’m playing the character of former chief minister Jayalalithaa. Many actors turned down this role, and I was hesitant at first. But the director explained the film’s intent to spark political discussions, which convinced me. To prepare, I studied videos of Jayalalithaa, focusing on her style and mannerisms.”

The film also stars Meghali Meenakshi and Anjena Kirti in prominent roles. Meenakshi described her character as “bubbly,” while Kirti expressed her excitement about audience reactions to her role.

Produced by Tharagai Cinemas, Aram Sei is set to release soon.
