A family comedy centered on an unexpected child joining a large household, Baby & Baby is set to release on February 14. The film, directed by debutant Pratap, features an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Jai, Pragya Nagra, and Yogi Babu.
“When the director narrated the story, Sathyaraj sir and Yogi Babu had already agreed, so I said yes too,” said Jai at the film’s audio and trailer launch event. “This film will make you laugh and enjoy without any bloodshed.”
The project marks a special reunion for Sathyaraj and actress Keerthana. “Initially, I hesitated when they mentioned being Jai’s mother,” Keerthana said. “But when they said Sathyaraj sir would be my partner, I agreed immediately.”
Music composer Imman, who scored the soundtrack, noted the film’s unique casting achievement. “It’s rare to get such big actors in a first film,” he said. “Pratap has used them perfectly to create a film that everyone will celebrate.”
The film represents producer Yuvaraj’s entry into cinema. “Though I don’t have a career in cinema, I’ve been interested since childhood,” he said. “The story told by Director Pratap immediately convinced us to produce it.”
Yogi Babu, who plays a significant role, shared a personal connection with the director. “Pratap is a friend of 17 years. We acted as junior artists in a film together,” he revealed. “Now he’s a director, and I’m a comedy actor.”
The film was shot during Ramzan, which added an unexpected element to Jai’s performance. “Acting as a starving person didn’t seem difficult since I was fasting,” he said.
