The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, has publicly praised the recently released film Bison, calling it “another diamond in Mari Selvaraj’s crown.” The endorsement was shared in an official statement following the film’s release.
In the statement, the Chief Minister described the film as the story of a village youth who overcomes struggles both on and off the Kabaddi court. He commended the director for his continued focus on impactful narratives, stating, “I have been closely watching each of his films. Every one of them has never failed to leave a sharp message and an impact on our minds.”

The Chief Minister specifically noted the film’s handling of its themes. “In this film, centered on the world of sports, Mari Selvaraj has shown the path and politics that the youth should embrace with great maturity,” the statement read. He also praised the director’s improving “cinematic language and artistic finesse.”
The statement also acknowledged the performances of the film’s cast, including Dhruv Vikram, Pasupathy, Anupama Parameswaran, and Rajisha Vijayan, for bringing the screenplay to life.

Directed by Mari Selvaraj, known for his socially conscious films, Bison centers on the sport of Kabaddi and is currently running in theatres.
