The upcoming Tamil film Bogi will dramatize the true story of a young woman from a remote mountain village who strives to become a doctor to serve her community. Director S. Vijayasekaran has stated that the film is based on a real incident and aims to highlight the stark contrast between urban technological advancement and rural deprivation.
The film’s narrative is set in a village situated at an altitude of 6,000 feet, a location so isolated that it lacks even bicycle access, making education and healthcare distant dreams for its residents. The plot centers on a young woman named Kavitha, who, with the support of her brother Azhagar, scores top marks in the state and leaves for medical college with the hopes of her entire village behind her. The film will reportedly explore whether she succeeds in her mission to return and provide medical services.

Vijayasekaran has positioned the film as a necessary watch for parents and the public, citing the anxieties faced by families in a rapidly advancing technological society. He described the screenplay as a fast-paced narrative that will engage audiences from start to finish.
The film’s cast includes Nabi Nandhi, Sarath, Swasika (known for her role in Lubber Pandhu), and Poonam Kaur, with a supporting cast featuring Vela Ramamoorthy, Sangili Murugan, Mottai Rajendran, and M.S. Bhaskar. The technical crew includes cinematographer Raja C Sekar, editor Suresh Urs, and the stunt direction team Anbariv.

Bogi is produced by V i Global Networks and is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 1, distributed by PGP Enterprises.
