In the lead-up to its theatrical debut on June 20, 2025, the team behind the upcoming Tamil film Chennai City Gangsters offered insights into the heist comedy entertainer at an event in Chennai.
Attending the event were lead actors Vaibhav, Athulya Ravi, Manikanda Rajesh, John Vijay, Chaams, and Soorya Ganapathi. The duo Vikram K Rajeshwar and Arun Kesav, who spoke about their approach to blending a heist narrative with comedic elements directs the film.
The project is produced by Bobby Balachandran under the banner of BTG Universal. Dr. Manoj Beno, Head of Strategy at the production house, outlined the company’s objective to support genre-focused films and new content.
The film’s technical crew includes National Award-winning composer D. Imman, who has scored the music, and stunt director Don Ashok, who choreographed the action sequences. The cinematography is handled by Tijo Tomy, with editing by Suresh A Prasad.
Chennai City Gangsters is positioned as a commercial entertainer featuring an ensemble cast. The film is scheduled for release in theatres across Tamil Nadu.
