Oh My God director Aswath Marimuthu and Love Today star Pradeep Ranganathan, friends of ten years, have collaborated on Dragon, set to release on February 21. The film, produced by AGS Entertainment, marks their first professional partnership after years of friendship.
“We discussed the basis for this film ten years ago,” said Marimuthu at a press conference in Chennai. “I didn’t direct my friend Pradeep Ranganathan in this film—I directed Pradeep Ranganathan, the star actor whose Love Today grossed ₹100 crore.”
For Ranganathan, the project came at a crucial time. “After Love Today, there was confusion about what kind of stories to choose because expectations were high,” he said. “We both keep our friendship and work separate. Friendship means friendship, work means work.”

The film features an ensemble cast including Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, K.S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin. Niketh Bommi handles cinematography, with music by Leon James.
“Only ten percent of what we’ve aimed to say is included in the preview,” Marimuthu revealed. “We’ve hidden the rest to give an unexpected experience to audiences.”
Creative producer Archana Kalpathi emphasized the film’s significance for AGS Entertainment. “This is our second collaboration with Pradeep Ranganathan,” she said. “We’ve made Dragon with good intuition.”
