SATHAMINDRI MUTHAM THA – REVIEW

Cast: Srikanth, Priyanka Thimmesh, Hareesh Peradi, Viaan Mangalashery

Director: Rajdev

From its first rain-drenched, tension-filled moments, Sathamindri Mutham Tha hints at a chilling thriller. Sandhya (Priyanka), an enigmatic woman struck with amnesia, finds herself inexplicably drawn to the seemingly harmless Vignesh (Srikanth). But as her real husband Raghu (Viaan) searches for his missing wife, a hardened investigator, Inspector Edward (Harish Peradi), uncovers a spine-tingling possibility: could Vignesh be hiding a much darker secret?

Srikanth aptly brings out the sinister side of Vignesh, a constant reminder that appearances can be deceiving. Priyanka’s portrayal of Sandhya’s vulnerable state is commendable, although her character could have been explored with more nuance. Harish Peradi, typically reliable, adds a surprising touch of comedy that contrasts with the overall dark atmosphere.

The film has a captivating premise, but its execution falters. As the narrative progresses, an ill-timed romance and intimate scenes pull focus away from the central mystery. These jarring choices dampen the thriller vibes, leaving a sense of wasted potential.

Sathamindri Mutham Tha offers glimpses of a taut and suspenseful ride, but its unevenness and misaligned elements hold it back. If you’re in the mood for a thriller with twists and conflicted characters, this film could offer some intrigue – just be prepared for a bumpy journey.
