The trailer and music launch of crime thriller Lara’ was held at Prasad Lab Cinema in Chennai, marking producer Karthikesan’s debut venture under MK Film Works Private Limited. The film, directed by Mani Moorthy, is based on true events from the Karaikal region.
“We may have dreams and imaginations, but implementation is what matters,” said Karthikesan, who also acts in the film. “Twenty-five years ago, I wandered around Kodambakkam seeking opportunities. After moving to Coimbatore and establishing myself, I’ve returned to produce films. I plan to make one film annually.”

The film stars Ashok Kumar and newcomer Anusreya Rajan in lead roles. “This is an investigation thriller that relies on its story rather than star power,” Kumar explained. “Though many newcomers are part of the cast, their performances match those of seasoned actors.”
Director Mani Moorthy emphasized the collaborative nature of the production. “Though Karthikesan wrote the story, he gave me complete creative freedom. The strong rapport between the cinematographer, music director, and actors helped us complete the film efficiently.”

Music composer Raghu Shravan Kumar has created four songs for the film. “I completed the background score in just four to five days because the film’s narrative was so engaging,” he said.
Anusreya Rajan, making her Tamil cinema debut, described her experience: “Working on this film has been fulfilling, and I’m looking forward to its release.”

The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer RJ Ravin, art director Murugan, and editor Valar Pandian. Mathew Varghese, Varshini, and Venmathi round out the supporting cast.
