Acclaimed director Prabhu Solomon has announced his latest project, Mambo, marking a significant moment in the industry. The film introduces Vijay Sri Harri, grandson of veteran actor Vijayakumar and son of actors Vanitha Vijayakumar and Akash, in his debut role.

Mambo, subtitled “Journey of a Wild Friendship,” is being touted as the first Asian film to feature a real lion. This ambitious project also marks the return of the production house Roja Combines after an 18-year hiatus. Known for films like Perarasu and Vaanchinathan, the company is re-entering the industry with this high-profile venture.

At a grand function held to introduce the film and its lead actor, Vijayakumar shared insights into his grandson’s journey. “We consulted Superstar Rajinikanth, and with his advice, decided to introduce Vijay Sri Harri to films,” he stated. The veteran actor also expressed thanks to producer Kaja Mydeen for elevating the project’s scale.

Prabhu Solomon, known for his films exploring human-nature relationships, revealed his vision for Mambo: “I’ve always wanted to make a world-class children’s film. Mambo is that film.” The director expressed confidence in his script, which he had previously narrated to Rajinikanth and producer Gnanavel.

The technical crew includes D Imman as music composer and Samuel Sanjay, Solomon’s son, making his debut as cinematographer. Popular comedian Yogi Babu also plays a significant role in the film.

While specific plot details remain undisclosed, the film is expected to center on the friendship between a boy and a lion. The production is currently underway, with more information about the storyline, full cast, and release date yet to be announced.
