Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep’s upcoming action thriller Mark is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on December 25, capitalizing on the Christmas holiday window. The promotional campaign kicked off in Chennai with a press conference attended by the cast and crew, where Sudeep addressed the media regarding the film’s collaboration with Tamil production house Sathya Jyothi Films and his reunion with director Vijay Karthikeyaa.
Mark serves as the second collaboration between Sudeep and Karthikeyaa, following their recent success with Max. In the new film, Sudeep plays a police officer named Ajay Markandeya who is forced to race against an 18-hour deadline to rescue kidnapped children. Speaking at the event, Karthikeyaa explained that unlike the serious tone of Max, he wanted to utilize Sudeep’s comic timing for this project. There was no scope for a sequel to Max, so we developed a fresh story, the director said, hinting that a third collaboration between the two is already a possibility.

During the interaction, Sudeep handled a moment of friction when a reporter questioned the seating arrangement of female leads Roshni Prakash and Deepshika, implying they were being sidelined. The actor immediately invited the actresses to take center stage, dismissing the arrangement as irrelevant to their substantial roles. We are here to celebrate the movie, Sudeep asserted, urging the media to focus on the collective effort rather than creating discomfort.
The film features a robust ensemble cast, including Naveen Chandra as a character named Bhadra and National Award winner Guru Somasundaram, who is making his Kannada debut. Comedian Yogi Babu, who also stars, reflected on his 22-year career, while Sudeep humorously noted that Yogi Babu was the busiest actor on set, often filming his portions in installments.

Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films in association with Kichcha Creations, Mark features music by Ajaneesh B. Loknath and cinematography by Shekar Chandra.
