A new film titled Vascodagama has arrived in port, after more than a 2-year journey. It signals the return of actor Nakkhul to the silver screen. Directed by RG Krishnan, this dark comedy presents itself as an entertainer but also as a commentary on the evolution of human nature.

Nakkhul, in the role of Vasudevan, leads an ensemble cast that includes Arthana Binu, marking her return to cinema in a significant role. The title Vascodagama intertwines the names of the main characters with a nod to the historical figure, suggesting a journey of discovery through the facets of human existence.

The narrative, according to director RG Krishnan, aims to blend dark humor with themes that are universally relatable, packaged in a format accessible to the general audience. The ambition is to delve into deep themes while maintaining a commercial appeal, a balancing act that make you wonder about the film’s execution.

Supporting roles are filled by names such as Vamsi Krishna, who plays the antagonist, and KS Ravi Kumar in a unique character role. There are also a range of comedians, including Anandharaj, Munishkanth, and Mansoor Ali Khan – so some fun and games are assured.

The film is produced by B. Subaskaran from Malaysia. The film, set to release this summer, has NV Arun providing the musical and NS Satishkumar handling the cinematography.
