A new Tamil horror thriller, Never Escape, promises to deliver a chilling cinematic experience, departing from the common horror-comedy hybrid in favor of a purely intense and terrifying focus. The film’s first look, launched by Vijay Sethupathi, has already garnered attention, and its audio launch revealed a cast and crew keen on raising the bar for the genre in Tamil cinema.

Vijay Sethupathi posted the first look poster a few days back.

Presented by Royal B Productions and produced by Nansi Flora, Never Escape aims to blend elements of horror, mystery, and psychological thriller. Producer Albert highlighted this unique combination, noting the film’s potential to stand out within the Tamil film landscape. He also announced a novel marketing initiative encouraging audience engagement: viewers able to answer ten questions about the film’s plot after watching will be eligible to win prizes via a lottery system.

The film boasts a cast of fresh faces, with Adhi Prithvi (grandson of veteran actress Nanjil Nalini) and Harshini in lead roles. Dance master Robert takes on a villainous role, a departure from his typical work, which he described as a compelling draw for joining the project. Director DSri Aravindh Raj emphasized the team’s dedication and highlighted the film’s many twists and turns.

Cinematographer Santosh Kumar, known for his work on web series, makes his transition to the big screen with Never Escape. The film features locations in Chennai and Arani and includes three songs, one entirely in English.

Shot extensively in Chennai and Vellore, Never Escape hopes to usher in a new wave of Tamil horror movies.
