Actor-producer Vishnu Vishal shared a deeply personal family story at the launch of Oho Enthan Baby, revealing the sacrifices made by his uncle that enabled his own father’s education and career, thereby framing the debut of his cousin, Rudra, as the fulfillment of a familial duty. The film, a romantic entertainer directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, is scheduled for release on July 11.
“My father and his elder brother came from a simple background,” Vishnu began, describing them as “cinema fanatics” who would share a single ticket to watch films. “My uncle didn’t study well, so he went to work and supported my father, helping him become an IPS officer. Rudra is his son. From this story, you can understand the duty I have towards Rudra.”
This narrative resonated strongly with the industry figures present. Actor Karthi, who attended the event, drew a parallel to the film Vanathai Pola, remarking, “I thought people like that only exist in films like Vanathai Pola. It’s a surprise that they exist in real life! If our father holds us in his hands, our older brother holds us on his shoulders. I am very lucky in that regard.”
Director Vetrimaaran also acknowledged the weight of Vishnu’s story. “When Vishnu Vishal met me earlier, he said he was going to introduce his brother as a hero. Now, after hearing his story on stage, I understand the meaning and weight of those words,” Vetrimaaran stated.
Producer Isari Ganesh was similarly moved, stating, “I haven’t been able to come out of the family story Vishnu Vishal told. Beyond being a good brother and actor, Vishnu Vishal is a good producer.” He also announced a future collaboration, revealing, “We are going to produce three films in association with his Vishnu Vishal Studioz.”
Rudra, making his debut, cited Karthi as an inspiration for his own journey. “The idea of becoming an actor after being an assistant director came from watching Karthi,” he said. Director Krishnakumar noted that it was Rudra who first brought the story to him.
Oho Enthan Baby also stars Mithila Palkar as the female lead. The music is composed by Jen Martin. The film is produced by Romeo Pictures and Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
