The upcoming film Sevakar produced by Rajan Joseph Thomas under Silver Movies International and directed by Santhosh Gopinath, held its trailer and music release event in Chennai. The film, which brings together talent from Kerala and Tamil Nadu, is set to be distributed by Action Reaction Distribution Company.

Director K. Bhagyaraj, speaking at the event, emphasized the importance of storytelling in cinema. “If there is no story, there is no producer. If there is no story, nothing is possible in cinema,” Bhagyaraj stated. He also shared anecdotes about unconventional casting choices from his career, highlighting the industry’s potential for inclusivity.

Producer Rajan Joseph Thomas, a retired postal worker from the U.S., spoke about his lifelong passion for cinema. “Making good films is more important to me than money. If I earn from this film, I will do another big and good film,” Thomas said, appealing for audience support.

Lead actor Prajin described the film’s premise: “This film is about a servant who does good and the evil forces that stop him. I have acted in such a role.” He noted his 18-year journey in cinema, expressing hope for a breakthrough.

Distributor Jenish revealed an interesting tidbit about the film’s origins, stating, “The story of this film was created for Vijay. When you say that this is a story written for him to direct, you will understand how the story is.”

Film Distributors Association President K. Rajan addressed the challenges facing small-budget films in the industry. “Even though 200 films are released in Tamil every year, 150 producers disappear. This is the situation. Who is responsible for this?” Rajan questioned, highlighting the recent success of smaller productions over big-budget films.

Director Santhosh Gopinath kept his comments brief, expressing respect for the Tamil film industry and its openness to new initiatives.
