Vijay Antony has confirmed that his 25th film, Shakthi Thirumagan, is a direct political drama, a significant departure from his previous work, and stated that he is prepared to handle any potential fallout from its themes. The film is directed by Arun Prabu, known for the critically acclaimed Aruvi.

Speaking at the film’s pre-release event, Vijay Antony revealed the nature of the script. “When I heard the second half, I was stunned. The second half is entirely in the political arena,” he stated. He acknowledged the directness of the film’s content, recounting, “I showed the film to some friends and asked if there were any hidden symbols. They said no, it’s direct.” Addressing the potential for controversy, he added, “Whatever party it is, I will take care of it. After all, this film is a work of art.”

Director Arun Prabu corroborated this, describing the project as a “people-centric political film” and noting that Vijay Antony’s performance would be a departure from his other roles. This was further reinforced by director Sasi, who observed that the film’s trailer structure, which holds back the hero’s appearance, suggests it is not a “conventional political thriller.”

The event also served as a platform for a major business announcement. Vijay Antony revealed plans for his production house, Vijay Antony Film Corporation, to become a public limited company starting in 2027. He stated the move was intended “to provide opportunities for many new artists.”

Reflecting on his career milestone, Vijay clarified that the “25 films” count includes his work in smaller character roles, not just as a lead actor. “It doesn’t feel like I’ve acted in 25 films; it feels like I just acted in Naan yesterday,” he remarked.

Several directors in attendance, including Suseenthiran and Mithran Jawahar, praised Vijay Antony’s consistent work ethic and his support for new filmmakers. The film also marks the debut of actress Trupti.

Shakthi Thirumagan is scheduled for release on September 19.
