Acclaimed filmmakers P.S. Vinothraj and Raju Murugan have issued strong endorsements for the upcoming cop drama Sirai, praising its emotional depth and raw performances ahead of its Christmas release. Produced by Seven Screen Studio’s S.S. Lalith Kumar and directed by debutant Suresh Rajakumari, the film hits theaters worldwide on December 25.
Vinothraj, the director behind the critically acclaimed Kottukkaali, highlighted the film’s immersive backdrop and the cast’s ability to connect emotionally with the audience. He noted that the newcomers in the film delivered performances that felt lived-in rather than acted, and specially commended Vikram Prabhu’s portrayal of a police officer.
National Award-winning director Raju Murugan described Sirai as a rare film that balances political commentary with strong emotional beats. He praised the screenplay written by Tamizh and observed that Suresh Rajakumari’s direction displays a maturity that belies his debutant status. Murugan urged audiences to celebrate the film in theaters, lauding the technical contributions of composer Justin Prabhakaran and cinematographer Madhesh Manickam.
Starring Vikram Prabhu, L.K. Akshay Kumar, Anishma, and Anantha, the film is edited by Philomin Raj and co-produced by L.K. Vishnu Kumar.
