Production company RS Infotainment has announced its next project, Mandaadi, a sports action drama starring Soori in the lead role. The film will be written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, whose previous film was Selfie. The announcement was made alongside the launch of the film’s first look poster at a press event in Chennai on April 19th.

Director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi discussed Soori’s involvement, stating, “I’ve admired Soori sir’s transition as an actor, and writing this role for him was a heartfelt process. Soori sir’s vision and view in selecting scripts have always been inspiring, and Mandaadi will definitely hold a special place in his career.” He added that the role required significant physical commitment: “This film not only elevates him as a performer but also demanded a kind of physical ability and commitment that only an artist like him could bring to life — Mandaadi can only be done by someone who is physically fit and dedicated.” Pugazhendhi also acknowledged the support of producer Elred Kumar and mentioned filmmaker Vetri Maaran’s involvement, saying, “Having someone like Vetri Maaran sir as a creative producer has been a guiding force.”
