The film Vaazhai celebrated its 25-day theatrical run with a success party attended by cast, crew, and industry professionals. The film, produced by Navvi Studios, Disney+ Hotstar, and Farmer’s Master Plan Production, and distributed by Red Giant Movies, has garnered attention for its storytelling and performances.
Director Mari Selvaraj, addressing the gathering, emphasized the film’s significance in his career. “Vaazhai is the answer to many questions about me,” Selvaraj stated. “I have turned my life into art, and I will always be true to this art.” He acknowledged the freedom given by producers and the efforts of his team and actors as key factors in the film’s success.
Pradeep, representing Disney+ Hotstar, highlighted the film’s potential longevity: “In another 10 years, no matter how many films Disney Hotstar makes, Vaazhai will stand alone. It’s a very important film in the history of Tamil cinema.”
Music composer Santhosh Narayanan expressed his satisfaction with the project: “Vaazhai will always be one of my favorite films. It’s a great joy to see a good story achieve success in collections too.”
Actress Nikila Vimal, who plays a significant role in the film, shared her experience: “I’m happy to celebrate Poongodi rather than be famous as beautiful Laila. Mari sir’s life is hard to live, but I am happy that I am a part of the life he lived.”

Stunt master Subbarayan praised the film’s impact, suggesting it had affected directors Bharathiraja and Shankar “mentally.” Editor Surya Prathaman described the editing process as an emotional journey, particularly noting the unique approach to the film’s climax.
