The trailer for the upcoming action film Yogi Da, featuring Sai Dhanshika in the lead role as a resilient police inspector, was launched by actor Vishal at an event in Chennai. Directed by Goutham Krishna, who also penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues, the film is based on a true story and centers on an honest officer battling corruption and injustice. Sai Dhanshika described her role as one of conviction, embodying the principle: “No matter how many people oppose it, truth remains the truth; and no matter how many support it, wrong is still wrong.”
In Yogi Da, Dhanshika portrays an inspector frequently transferred due to her integrity. The plot thickens when a murder occurs within her station limits, which she uncovers despite attempts to disguise it as suicide. Her refusal to bow to pressure to release the culprit leads to further challenges. Speaking about her journey, Dhanshika said, “Believing only in hard work, I’ve come this far, to Yogi Da.”
The launch event was attended by several industry figures, including directors R.V. Udayakumar, Perarasu, Mithran R. Jawahar, and Meera Kathiravan, along with actor Radha Ravi. R.V. Udayakumar praised Dhanshika’s “outstanding performance” and the film’s action sequences. Director Perarasu noted that the trailer was “impressive” and that the film “touches on national pride and the strength of women.”
Vishal, who officially launched the trailer, commended the film’s action sequences, choreographed by K. Ganesh Kumar, and wished producer V. Senthilkumar success with his first venture under the Sri Monika Cini Films banner. The film also stars Sayaji Shinde, the late Manobala, and Kabir Duhan Singh. The background score is by Deepak Dev, with songs composed by Ashwamithra.
During the event, a significant personal announcement was made: Sai Dhanshika and Vishal revealed their decision to get married on August 29th. “I’ve known Vishal for over 15 years and we never knew when this friendship of ours nurtured into love,” Dhanshika shared. Vishal confirmed the news and stated that Dhanshika will continue her acting career after their marriage. The announcement was met with heartfelt congratulations from all present.
