At the music and trailer launch of the Tamil thriller Pagalariyaan, director R.V. Udayakumar commended the film‘s team for their dedication and perseverance in bringing the project to fruition. The film, directed by debutant Murugan and produced under the banner of Rishikesh Entertainments, marks a significant milestone for the team, who have faced many challenges along the way.
“Everyone who spoke said that this film was made with a lot of struggle,” Udayakumar acknowledged. “Cinema is not ordinary; it is akin to a mother‘s labor pain. Only by overcoming trials and tribulations can one succeed in cinema.” He further praised lead actor Vetri for his commitment to choosing unique stories and collaborating with newcomers. “Vetri is a unique actor who chooses good stories that he likes,” Udayakumar said. “He deserves appreciation for working with so many newcomers, transcending all barriers.”
Director Murugan echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for the support he received throughout the film‘s production. “This movie was made amidst many struggles,“ he shared. “It was a long-cherished dream. All the artists of this film have been a great support and worked hard, and I thank them all. I also thank all the celebrities who have come to bless us.“
Music composer Vivek Saro, also making his debut with Pagalariyaan, spoke about the creative process behind the film‘s music. “I have composed and re-composed the music for this film four or five times,“ he revealed. “Everyone who has heard it so far has appreciated it.“ He expressed confidence in the film‘s ability to offer a distinct cinematic experience, stating, “This film will be a very different experience for actor Vetri. We can see a different Vetri that we have not seen before.”
Actor Vetri, known for his roles in films like 8 Thottakkal and Jeevi, thanked the industry veterans for their support and shed light on the film‘s premise. “This film is entirely set in one night,” he explained. “I liked the story very much when I heard it and immediately agreed to do it.” He expressed his appreciation for the film‘s crew, stating, “Everyone understood the film‘s budget and worked with full dedication.”
Pagalariyaan, starring Vetri and Akshaya Kandamuthan, is scheduled for theatrical release on May 24th.
