Director Thiagarajan’s Andhagan, starring Prashanth in the lead role, is set to hit theaters this August. The film, an adaptation of the Hindi movie Andhadhun, has been tailored specifically for Tamil audiences.
At a recent promotional event in Chennai, Thiagarajan emphasized that Andhagan is not a mere remake but a “remade film.” He stated, “Keeping Tamil fans in mind, we have included many things that are not available in the Hindi version. After the release, you will feel the difference between Andhadhun and Andhagan.”
The film features a star-studded cast including K.S. Ravikumar, Simran, Priya Anand, and Karthik. Thiagarajan highlighted the cast’s performances, noting, “We handpicked star actors to suit each character. K.S. Ravikumar has perfected his character with a skillful performance.”
Prashanth, for whom this marks his 50th film, expressed gratitude to the cast and crew. “Star artists have been chosen for each of the minor characters in this film,” he said. “Everyone worked on whatever kind of scenes Dad wanted to portray on screen.”
The event also saw the release of a promotional song, Andhagan Andham, featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan and vocals by Anirudh and Vijay Sethupathi. The song, visualized by choreographer Prabhu Deva, was released by actor Vijay.
K.S. Ravikumar, who plays a significant role in the film, praised the production values. “Thiagarajan sir has taken care of many things like star cast, grand production and worked hard to make the film,” he said.
The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Ravi Yadav, art director Senthil Raghavan, and sound designer Lakshmi Narayanan. Thiagarajan emphasized the film’s innovative approach, particularly highlighting the climactic scene which he believes “will create a lot of discussion.”
