Cybercrime thriller Nirvaagam Porupalla has locked a December 5 theatrical release. Directed by and starring debutant S. Kaarthieswaran, the film delves into the mechanics of modern financial fraud and digital scams. The audio and trailer were unveiled in Chennai at an event headlined by veteran filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj and MLA AMV Prabhakar Raja.

Produced by D. Radhakrishnan under the RK Dream Factory banner, the film features an ensemble cast including Livingston, Imman Annachi, Black Pandi, and Aadhavan, with music composed by Srikanth Deva. The narrative is structured around real-life incidents of online fraud, exploring how individuals fall prey to complex digital traps.

During the launch, actor Black Pandi shared a personal account of losing funds to a phishing link while his daughter was hospitalized. He noted that he did not know how to face the situation when the money was stolen during a medical emergency. Black Pandi urged the audience to remain vigilant against APK files on WhatsApp and phishing links, stating that the film mirrors these harsh realities.

Director Kaarthieswaran noted that the script focuses on four specific types of fraud, blending social awareness with entertainment. He credited Bhagyaraj as his inspiration for taking on the dual responsibility of writing and acting. Bhagyaraj praised the film’s core premise, which follows a victim who turns to scamming to survive. The veteran director stated that he was intrigued by the concept of a man who was cheated deciding to cheat others in return.

Director Gaurav Narayanan, who recently served as a jury member for the National Film Awards, also spoke at the event. He highlighted the strength of Tamil screenwriting, noting that Bhagyaraj’s techniques heavily influenced the jury’s appreciation for the acclaimed film Parking.

Nirvaagam Porupalla is co-produced by KMP Productions and SBM Studios, with Sorian Media Entertainment handling the distribution across Tamil Nadu.
