Asna Creations has unveiled the audio and trailer for its upcoming investigation thriller Justice For Jeni. Produced by Syed Thameen and helmed by debutant director Santhosh Ryan, the film is a courtroom drama based on a harrowing true story. The launch event in Chennai was attended by veteran filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj, who commended the team’s clarity of vision.
The narrative centers on a young woman’s relentless quest for justice following the murder of her friend, a medical college student. Producer Syed Thameen revealed that the script is grounded in real events, specifically referencing a 2017 case where the Poonamallee court delivered a verdict against the perpetrators. “This is the story of a woman fighting for her wronged friend,” Thameen stated, emphasizing the film’s roots in reality.
Director Santhosh Ryan explained that the film tackles the pressing issue of women’s safety and personal morality. “Crimes like this continue to happen in our country. Change will only come through individual discipline, and this film speaks strongly to that,” Ryan said.
The cast features Ashika Ashokan in the lead role, alongside Sandra Anil, Aishwarya, Sinan, Biju Thomas, Rekha, Hareesh Peradi, and Nizhalgal Ravi. The film was shot across Coimbatore, Chennai, and Cochin, with cinematography by Veeramani and editing by Sandeep Nandakumar. The music is composed by Gowtham Vincent.
Guest of honor K. Bhagyaraj praised the debutant director’s storytelling ability. “Even though Santhosh has not worked as an assistant to anyone, he narrated the story with great clarity. That itself shows his talent,” Bhagyaraj noted, urging the media to support small-budget films with strong content.
