Following the successful theatrical run of their film Accused, actor-producer Udhaya and director Prabhu Srinivas announced that they will be reuniting for a new project. The announcement was made at a gathering in Chennai to celebrate the film’s performance and thank the media and audiences for their support.

The success was largely attributed to the dedicated efforts of Udhaya. “From the moment the work on this film began until this moment I am speaking, Udhaya has been working like a demon. I have been watching it every day,” said director Prabhu Srinivas, crediting him as the primary reason for the film’s success. He also shared anecdotes from their recent theatre tour, noting that fans had connected so strongly with the film that they were addressing Udhaya by his character’s name, “Kanakku.”

Producer Daya N. Panneerselvam confirmed the team’s future plans. “Following the success of this film, this same team is planning to reunite for a new film. An official announcement regarding this will be made soon,” he stated. Udhaya later revealed that the new project would be a story from director Prabhu Srinivas titled Dandanaka Daan.

Reflecting on the journey, Udhaya acknowledged the significant challenges involved in bringing the film to the screen. “The pain we went through is indescribable and cannot be shared,” he said, framing the success as a rewarding outcome of a difficult process. “This film is in its third week in theatres, which is a huge victory in itself. We are still fighting to keep it running in theatres, but my team and I are doing this struggle willingly.”

Udhaya concluded with a promise to build on this momentum, stating, “Following the success of Accused, I can confidently say that I will continue to deliver successful films without a break.”
