The music and trailer for the upcoming Tamil film “Accused,” featuring Udhaya, Ajmal, and Yogi Babu in prominent roles, were launched at an event in Chennai. The film is a joint production by Jashan Studios with Sachin Cinemas, Sri Dayakaran Cine Production, and MIY Studios, with A.L. Udhaya, Daya N. Panneerselvam, and M. Thangavel credited as producers. “Accused” is directed by Prabhu Srinivas, known for his work in Kannada cinema, and introduces Kannada actress Jaanvika as the female lead.

Speaking at the event, actor Udhaya described “Accused” as a significant project in his career. “This ‘Accused’ film is my most important film. It is my good fortune to get such a film in my 25th year,” he stated. Udhaya also reflected on his perseverance in the industry, saying, “I have even thought of leaving the film industry, but due to my self-confidence, I am standing before you today.” He expressed gratitude to the director, producers, and the entire cast and crew.

Director Prabhu Srinivas commended Udhaya’s commitment to the project. “When I gave the script of this film to Udhaya, he read it completely in a short time and said okay, and he even postponed some of his other films for this. Thanks to him for that,” Srinivas said. He also highlighted a bus fight sequence in the film as a notable element.

Producer and director Keyaar, a long-time acquaintance of Udhaya’s family, remarked, “I saw scenes from ‘Accused,’ Udhaya’s talent shines through. The songs have also come out well. This film will be a turning point in Udhaya’s film career.” FEFSI President R.K. Selvamani drew a parallel, suggesting, “Like ‘Sethu’ for Vikram, ‘Accused’ will be for Udhaya. The trailer is menacing, it has been prepared very grandly.”

Actor Ajmal, who plays a key role, stated, “My character in this film is very dear to me. There will be good chemistry between me and Udhaya on screen.” Actress Jaanvika expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and her hope for support from Tamil audiences. Yogi Babu, unable to attend due to a night shoot, conveyed his best wishes via video call, stating, “Working on this film was a great experience.”

The film’s music is composed by Naren Balakumar, with cinematography by Marudhanayagam.I, editing by K.L. Praveen, art direction by Anand Mani, and stunt choreography by Stunt Silva. Stunt Silva, who described himself as part of Udhaya’s family, praised Udhaya’s perseverance and the film’s action sequences. Naren Balakumar thanked his team and the film’s producers and director for their support.

Several other industry figures, including producer Murali Ramasamy, director-actor Pandiarajan, and actor Anandbabu, also spoke at the event, offering their best wishes for the film’s success. A.L. Alagappan, Udhaya’s father and a producer, expressed his pride in his son’s efforts.
